On dit, Prendre commencement, pour dire, Commencer. Tout ce qui a pris commencement, prendra fin. une telle riviere prend son commencement en tel lieu.
On dit prov. qu'Un homme est venu de petits commencements, Quand il s'est eslevé d'une basse fortune.
On appelle les premieres leçons, les premieres instructions en quelque Art ou en quelque science, Des commencements. il a de bons commencements dans la Grammaire, dans la Peinture, &c. ce Maistre luy a donné de bons commencements, de mauvais commencements.
